    We are a group of people with a common goal: to reinvent the food industry — one delicious mouthful at a time. We are here to change the everyday, for everyone and everywhere. With our AI genius, Giuseppe, we have managed to replicate animal products with plants.

  • What are Notco's NotProducts?

    At NotCo, we replicate the animal products we love to eat. They taste like, cook like, and feel like the real thing - but are made with plants. Not only that, but by taking the animal out of the equation, we have also managed to considerably reduce the environmental impact of the production of our products when compared to their animal counterparts.   • What is the motivation behind creating plant-based products that taste & feel like animal-based ones?

    NotCo was born because we love food and we don't want to change what we like so much about it. But today, what we love to eat is hurting the environment. We believe that replicating the animal products we all love to eat but making them from plants gives us all an opportunity to reduce our environmental impact without sacrificing anything. We are here to create a different food system - reinvent it, actually - without animals and for everyone, everywhere.

  • Who is Giuseppe? Is he real?

    Giuseppe, our genius G, is 100% real. It is an Artificial Intelligence algorithm that learns infinite combinations of plants which replicate animal products to make them even better. Some of Giuseppe's skills include working on the formulation of recipes, running food sensory studies, and, with the support of our NotCo chefs, learning from internal feedback analysis. All the analysis is fed back into Giuseppe creating a continued learning cycle.

  • Why is your AI algorithm called Giuseppe?

    Giuseppe Arcimboldo was our inspiration to name our AI algorithm. The famous Italian artist dedicated his ability to illustrating and painting human faces using plants, fruits and vegetables, leaving an important legacy that becomes a source of inspiring art today. Similarly, Giuseppe - our genius G - guides us in the formulation to replicate a specific product of animal origin, using only plants. Giuseppe became our key to the beginning of a revelation on how to change the food system, which not only serves us but also all future generations.

  • Why and how does NotCo use AI?

    Artificial Intelligence is about learning everything from life in order to improve it and it is our main tool to reinvent the food we love to eat. Thanks to AI, we created Giuseppe: a proprietary algorithm who learns and studies infinite combinations of plants which can replicate animal products, and in our opinion, make them even better. With this process, we manage to store and obtain an enormous amount of information - chemical, molecular, physical, and nutritional - with a higher level of detail that would be unimaginable with the sole use of the human mind. Thus, with Giuseppe on our side, we are going to reinvent the food industry. Why Not?

  • How do you make your plant-based NotProducts look, smell, taste, and function like animal-based ones?

    Part of the essential tasks Giuseppe performs is studying and analyzing animal foods at a structural level - molecular, physical, and chemical - to find what plants and their combinations can replicate the same animal product structure just using plants. This way, the recipes Giuseppe creates, combined with the brilliant minds of our chefs and scientists, turn into NotProducts that have the functions and characteristics to their animal counterpart.

  • Why replace a regular animal product with a NotProduct?

    Like you, we love food! Each tablespoon, bite, sip, "mmmh" that brings food to life and highlights how delicious they are. Now, add sustainability, reduce the environmental impact in making them and enjoy it much more. Because plants do everything better, naturally. By consuming our NotProducts, you not only help to reduce the environmental impact generated by the livestock industry, but you also feed on a product that is equally rich, tastes and cooks the same as their animal counterparts.

  • Is NotMilk™ vegan friendly?

    Yes! NotMilk™ is certified vegan.

  • Is NotMilk™ certified Halal?

    Yes! NotMilk™ is Halal certified.

  • What are the NotMilk™ certifications?

    NotMilk™ is full of plant-based goodness. Besides being non-GMO, vegan, lactose free, and soy free, it's certified gluten free, Kosher and Halal.

  • Is NotMilk™ Kosher?

    Yes! NotMilk™ is certified kosher U, and you will find the kosher U symbol on all of our packs.

  • Is NotMilk™ Gluten-Free?

    Yes! NotMilk™ is gluten-free certified.

  • Are NotCo's products GMO free?

    Yes! None of our ingredients are derived from Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO). Our raw materials are plant-based and go through modification processes for the development of our products, but not on a genetic level. Our Research and Development team constantly works to find the best ingredients that maintain the structural and taste properties of all of our products.

  • Do NotCo's products have a smaller environmental impact than animal-products?

    Every day, we create more and more plant-based options that lessen the environmental impact without sacrificing on taste and eating experience. When we take the animals out of the equation, we begin eliminating the negative environmental side effects that comes with them.

    The cultivation of vegetables uses a smaller quantity of water and generates a smaller quantity of CO2 than livestock. In addition, the cultivation of plants requires lower energy consumption, another main factor when considering CO2 emissions. This way, water consumption decreases, the carbon footprint of livestock dwindles, and the space required to grow the crops is a lot smaller. All of this contributes to helping our planet.

    The Kraft Heinz Not Company will focus on plant-based innovation across numerous product categories that Kraft Heinz currently plays in. It will be headquartered in Chicago, with research and development facilities in San Francisco.

    Plant-based is one of the fastest growing segments in Food and Beverage, but although popularity is surging, there are still barriers regarding as taste, texture, variety, familiarity, and availability. Kraft Heinz and NotCo both see an incredible opportunity to leverage their respective strengths for a joint venture designed to reimagine global food production and advance it toward a more sustainable future. This is an extraordinary step forward for both businesses and, we hope, for consumers and the environment.

    Our joint venture kicks off immediately with the goal of getting something innovative to market very quickly, following the speed of development from NotCo's AI technology and Kraft Heinz go to market capabilities.

  • Does the scope of the joint venture also involve Kraft Heinz international markets?

    The joint venture starts in North America and will have a global focus. We expect to share more details on markets and roll-out plans in the months ahead.

    No, there will be a separate team dedicated to the joint venture. The current AI Chef’s Team will remain dedicated to the NotCo brand. We will have an exclusive team 100% devoted to servicing the joint venture needs. This team will have a culinary sub group supporting all the development efforts as well.
