Ingredients

For Beans:

  • 2 cups of NotMilk™ Whole
  • 2 cups of green beans
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of shallots
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tsp of dried thyme
  • 2 cups of mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp of coconut oil (melted)
  • 1/4 cups of wheat flour
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper

 

Crispy Onion:

  • 1 cup of NotMilk™
  • 2 cups of crispy onion
  • 1 cup of wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 1/4 of white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp of paprika
  • 1/2 white onion

 

Steps

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 320ºF.
  2. Cut the green beans in 4 cm thick pieces. Cook in salted boiling water for 5 minutes. Strain and let cool in chilled water and set aside.
  3. Chop the shallots into wedges, slice the mushrooms and cut the garlic into small cubes.
  4. Heat a pan with olive oil and add the shallots, garlic and thyme. Cook for 5 minutes on low heat.
  5. Add the mushrooms and cook for another 2 minutes on medium heat and set aside.
  6. In a large pan, heat the coconut oil, add the flour and cook for 1 minute on medium heat, until a smooth dough forms.
  7. Add the NotMilk™ slowly and keep stirring with a wooden spoon until fully incorporated. Cook for 2 minutes.
  8. Add the green beans, the shallots and mushroom mix. Mix well with a wooden spoon and turn off heat.
  9. Add 1 cup of the crispy onion to the pan and mix. Put everything into a bread pan, cover with another cup of crispy onion.
  10. Bake at 320ºF for 15 minutes.

Crispy onion

  1. Chop the onion into wedges and soak in the NotMilk™ for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix the flour, turmeric powder, paprika, salt, black pepper and white pepper in a bowl.
  3. Strain the onions and dip in the flour mix. Repeat once more, soaking the onions in the NotMilk™ and dipping into the flour mixture.
  4. Fry in oil at 340ºF for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from oil and soak them on a paper towel to remove any excess oil. Place on casserole.

Notes

You can make this recipe with either NotMiIk™ 2% Reduced Fat or Whole. Enjoy it!
