Ingredients

  • 2 cups of NotMilk™
  • 5 potatoes
  • 1/2 white onion
  • 1 1/2 tsp of vegetable oil
  • 1/8 cup of wheat flour
  • 1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp of ground white pepper
  • 1/4 tsp of ground black pepper
  • 1tsp of salt

Steps

  1. Preheat a pot at low heat. Add oil and flour. Stir for 2 minutes.
  2. Slowly add all of the warm NotMilk™. Cook for one minute at low heat.
  3. Add the nutmeg, white and black pepper and salt. Mix and cook for 3 more minutes at low heat.
  4. Let the sauce rest.
  5. Finely dice the the onion. Heat a separate pot with a splash of oil and sauté the onions for 15 minutes.
  6. Add the sauce to the pot with the onions and let simmer at low heat for two minutes. Put the mix into a bowl and let rest.
  7. Once the sauce is cold, slice the potatoes thin with a mandolin.
  8. Add the potato slices in the sauce and mix thoroughly with your hands.
  9. Put the potatoes on top of each other in a circular format around the pot towards the center. Cover them with the remaining sauce.
  10. Bake at 320o for 40 minutes.
  11. Decorate with chives and serve.
